Our group has decided on the song Stressed Out by 21 pilots. The song is a very nostalgic song not very sad but still has that feel to it which will really dictate how we film it. The genre is a midtempo alternative hip hop and rap song 

  • The costumes we will use will make us look like an older version of ourselves to give the feeling of an older person thinking back on their younger days
  • Props include a Bed, Notebooks, and more items in a house setting
  • The appearance will change from an older looking person to a younger looking person throughout the video to try to tell the story of the song.
  • The song is decently fast paced and will probably cause us to do quick cuts and transitions throughout the video 

1.     The style of the music will make the video will make any video have a nostalgic feeling that we have to be present throughout the video 

2.     We also looked at the songs Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Lean On by Major Lazer as they have similar style songs and showed us how we should form our music video

3.    The official music video brings Family throughout the video which could be used to recrate parts.

Critical Reflection

Our product represents poor social groups and the issues of trying to work out of a  spot in life stuck in the working class, social mobility, and community support and solidarity. The idea that the mechanic/driver in our film is a poor blue collar worker with the dream of becoming more than that. It highlights the economic inequalities and access to opportunities that shape the way someone's work life may go. Having to go for a job like a racecar driver may feel impossible due to the money and connections you have to have, including the talent you need, our product really provides a look on how you can overcome and pursue dreams when there is major economic inequality.
