New Car

Image
We finally found a car. After hours of searching we finally found a car. Its the exact same one as the old one Logan crashed. Its the same model and year. It is not modified though. This is perfect as we will quickly be able to build it up. I will begin to help Logan transfer the old race car parts into this car to make it better.  The new car also has a manual transmission so I will not need change . Although it wont make it to full race form it will still be the best option. With having the new car this gives us the ability to finish our filming process. We are not ready for that yet though. With this being great I have some better news. All of our previous filming is done and edited. This will make the rest of the process much quicker and easier. As we film the new parts I will insert into the spaces we want them in. I began planning out when were going to film. I decide that this weekend would be a good time to finish it all up. We will get everything filing wise done. I think that

Filming Part Two

Today we filmed again. We still didn't have the car. We wanted to go more in depth on the fixing car scenes. We all arrived at the garage Logan sent us. We all made it on time. I brought the props and costumes that I had acquired earlier. This included the mechanic costume and the tools. We began preparing the car to film. We needed to get it lifted to so we could get good angles. It took us a bit as its very dangerous and everything needed to be right. Once everything was ready we began filming. For these scenes I was filming again. I remembered everything we did wrong from the last time so nothing went wrong. We got a lot of good angles and shots getting right up in the action of the mechanic character. After al this we had time to reshoot the shots from are last time editing. We already knew the error and how to do ach shot so we quickly did these scenes. After a bit of a clean up we had finished filming for the day. This time we decided to review while we were all together. Ev

Major Rework

Image
Realizing I still dint have enough skill. I needed more practice. I wanted to  build on the basics I already know. I start by watching online tutorials and reading up a bit more to expand my knowledge of different transitions. Checking out classics like cuts and dissolves. I experiment with things like the whip pan, a transition that adds energy to scenes and keeps the story flowing. I give the match cut a shot, trying to connect scenes in a more interesting way. The jump cut makes things snappier or highlighting character emotions. Trying out cross-cutting, I weave different storylines together to add more excitement. I play with cuts like L and J cuts to make dialogues flow more smoothly. Wipes and iris-ins get some attention, giving my films unique touches. Invisible cuts become a handy tool, allowing scenes to flow without distracting the viewer. I experiment with unconventional transitions for a bit of wow factor. The dissolve becomes a go-to choice. I start syncing audio with vis

Editing Part One

Image
With time in between are next chance to film I started to edit and review. I first went to take a detailed look over our filming. I went through each scene checking for any clips that needed to be reshot. After carefully going through each one I noticed a few things. There were a few times when the acting was a bit messed up. There were also a few things that shouldn't have been in the shot. I decided that a lot of this could be fixed with editing. I also looked for things that could be improved on when we film aging. After a deep review on the clips I gathered all the things I would need to start editing. I began editing the establishing scene placing sound with it and making it the create length. I then went on to edit the rest of the scenes. I had a bit of trouble with some of the sound. I was able to figure it out quickly with a video. I then had a issue with a scene in the house I though I could fix. I decided to take note and let the group know we needed to refilm it. I also

Filming Part One

Today we started to film. I used my phone and Logans Go pro to film. Logan and I arrived on time with all the correct materials. Griffin arrived a bit later. We decided to film all the scenes that didn't need a race car for now. I played apart in acting and filming. We started off with the establishing shot of the house. We then moved on to the shots inside the house. This is the part were I was acting. It took me a few attempts to get my scene. We then moved onto the car repair scenes as the broken car would work perfect for this part. I was not in this part so I was put to the task to film. This was one of the harder shots for us to film. It needed a lot of hard angels to get and the acting was a bit harder. We got everything cleaned up right after this. With all that said the day went great for us. All the props and costumes worked out. We had no issues with weather and never needed to resort to a backup plan. We are all still on the lookout for a car. Once we are able to find

Detailing

I started to get editing down. I had a bit of time before we started to film. I was able to find the application I was going to edit the film on. I decided I would edit on iMovie. It has it worked very well in the past. I began by taking some old footage that Logan had gave me to try and learn new skills. I wanted to create the racing part of our film to feel intense. I focused on transitions and making the sounds feel loud. I watch a few videos and attempted to replicate those skills into the clip. I also went to a friend of mine who has more experience for help as well. He was a to show me a few more techniques. After a few hours I came up with a short clip. It made a simple driving clip into a more interesting and intense racing clip. We weren't going to use this in our movie as the footage was outdated. This all did help me refresh up on how to use the application. I was also able to test out some different techniques to get speed up on my editing process. This will allow me t

Car Issues

Image
Our group was depending on Logan's race car as the main car. Due to a recent crash it is out of service. The crash caused major damage on the right side of the car. I later found out that the car was totaled. With that news we all decide to look for a car. I started searching the web for the type that Logan needed. After no luck I decided to switch to auctions to maybe find something there. I found a few cars and sent them to Logan but he said none of them would work. I decided to just go through many online marketplaces like Facebook market place to find anything we could get to run into to film. I also went with Logan to look at a car. It looked good but had some slight problems we didn't like. With having no luck I decided to get us a backup plan. I reached out to the same family member from before to see if we could borrow a car. He was unsure but said if it came down to it we could use it. Although we had this backup plan I still wanted to help look for a new car. I found

Preparing for the Race

Image
To begin work on our film I needed to get all the materials we needed. I checked to find any old clothing that could be used as costumes in our film. I found a few pair of clothes that could help get the mechanic look for one of the characters. I then looked for props that this character could use in my garage. I found a lot of great tools that would work really well in the movie. I then got a lot of casual wear that I had to use for all the characters in the movie. I found a lot of good items for scenes that our at the house or really in a non racing environment. I also went and asked a family member for some equipment. Due to him always working with cars he offered a lot of items that we could use. He gave a few clothing items and a old helmet. This was all great to use as backup items as we had a lot of this stuff already. With all the materials I and my group mates had gathered I wanted to set up the costumes. I went through all the clothes we had trying to find the best outfit for
