This is our final film. I hope you enjoy we put lots of handwork into it. We worked through the hard parts and overall I feel my production skills have improved greatly.
The action genre is a great choice for our film. The genre focuses on stories that involve high-stakes, high-energy, and fast-paced events . All camera shots are fast paced and there tends to be a lot of close-up shots to show the expression of the character. Establishing shots are also important as they show where the action is taking place. Tracking shots also common for chase scenes which makes them feel involved. B) In action the use of sound is very important, and the use of amplified diegetic sound make it more exciting. C) Action films tend to be in built suburban areas to allow for a better experience of rushing past buildings then going through the country. The use of an area that can give a sense of speed is the most common. Lighting is usually illuminating characters faces. Props are always used for weapons and tech devices. Camera Angles Common camera angles in Thrillers are high angles, close ups, and tilted. The high angle makes the actor in the camera look vulnerable. Close-ups shows really what the actor's reaction is and how they are feeling. A tilted shot adds dramatic tension to the scene. Camera Shots Long shots and over the shoulder shots are commonly used in Thrillers. Long shots in Thrillers are used to make something feel far away or unobtainable. The over the shoulder shot builds up tension and suspense. Camera Movements A commonly used camera movement in Thrillers is tracking. Tracking is used to make an actor look as if they are being watched or followed. Mis-En-Scene In a thriller the costumes are commonly casual. The lighting is usually dim and low. Camera The extended start of the first scene begins with a long tracking shot, following a feather falling along the environment of the film. This establishes the area within which segments of the film take place and sets a dreamlike tone for the movie. This same uncut shot then transitions to a long shot of two people on a bench, featuring the main character and the woman he is talking too. This distance represents both the physical space between them and psychological differences or “space” between them. There are fundamentally different from each other, and this shot establishes that. Costumes The costumes that the two characters wear in the first five minutes are integral to starting the plot and moving the storytelling forward. The main point of focus are the characters' shoes, which start Gump into telling his life story.
