Genre uncharted
In
this movie there are lots of medium close-up shots mainly when the characters
are exchanging dialogue. There are some extreme close-up shots used to emphasize
how valuable some of the items that are after are. During the fighting scenes
there are lots of long shots, this allows the viewer to be able to see all the
action while leaving a couple of subtle details out of the center of the
screen. While the main characters are sneaking around there are many medium
shots. These medium shots give the viewer a clearer view of the surroundings of
the characters while also being able to leave out things that may confuse the
viewer. As the bad guy is more powerful there is an eye level shot that then
pans to a high angle showing that the bad guy has more power at that exact
moment.
All
the characters' costumes closely resemble the source material, the entire movie
is based on a video game and does a great job of portraying this. One of the
main ways it does it is using costumes. When the main characters have been
exploring for a while, you can see their clothes become dirtied and sweaty. The
bad guys in the movie are dressed in dark clothing that is both formal and
informal, during the flashback the younger character can be seen wearing darker
clothing while breaking into a museum to steal a map.
The
sound of each scene also plays a big part in the action feeling. during a fight
or when the characters are running from the bad guys there is fast passed or
louder music. It feels like each time a weapon is fired that it is louder than
the rest of the screen to show that that action throws the power wildly to the
other party. The music also slows when the characters think they are close to
solving the mystery to add to the suspense. The characters' dialogue becomes
quiet and louder depending on the situation. There is a sound bridge towards
the beginning of the movie as the main character falls off one of the shipping
containers.
