Production Blog: Editing

 Today on the 14th we continued editing our film. This is our second day of editing. We started off by importing are audio back in. We had very poor quality at fist for the music. Now they we have everything we need to start editing we can really get things done. We listened to the video once and realized the ending to our are video was not good so that had to be changed. We also had to start editing the photo album scenes to have clean cuts. We realized that the only way we could get a better ending is by recording a small clip for the end. I plan later today having my brother record me acting to get the best ending. I will redress in the same clothes sit on the same couch and act like I'm stressed. After I do that I will send it to Logan to upload to his computer. We then decide we may want to change the start of our song due to the lyrics fitting better with our video. We decide not to change the beginning of the song because there wasn't enough length and it didn't fit they way we wanted it. After changing it up we put the original audio we had to start editing the video. Most of the editing today was trimming again. We trimmed down the mom reading to kid scene and the photo album scene. After trimming we had about one minute five seconds in all. The hardest part of editing today was trying t figure out the perfect part of song for our clip. The ten seconds would be just the right amount to zoom into the photos. We plan doing possibly a bit tomorrow but definitely on Friday we will continue.

Critical Reflection

Our product represents poor social groups and the issues of trying to work out of a  spot in life stuck in the working class, social mobility, and community support and solidarity. The idea that the mechanic/driver in our film is a poor blue collar worker with the dream of becoming more than that. It highlights the economic inequalities and access to opportunities that shape the way someone's work life may go. Having to go for a job like a racecar driver may feel impossible due to the money and connections you have to have, including the talent you need, our product really provides a look on how you can overcome and pursue dreams when there is major economic inequality.
