Title research 1

The first website we found while researching was Art of the Title. we liked how this website was organized and the number of title sequences available for each genre. Each sequence was also further grouped by what is found in the sequences, for example, it would group together sequences that contain or convey tension or sequences that were shot in a single take. At the bottom of the page, the website features stories detailing major things happening in the title design industry. This website also features classic title designs in the search bar along with recommended title screens. The website also includes additional commentary on the title sequence that you previously watched at the top of the page. Although not all of the title sequences have a great amount of commentary a good amount has it. We feel that the website may be improved by including additional information in the grid view. Despite these problems, the website is excellent, and its long list of both explanations and watchable sequences is beneficial to any reader. Our favorite part of all is the way the website groups and organizes the title sequences.

Another website we found is Watch the titles. This website like the other allows you to search for specific genres in a search bar at the top of the page. This site cuts out all of the pictures and focuses strictly on getting you to the information. One thing we really enjoy about this site is the longer background they give you about the director. this allows you to better get to know the title designer and what projects they have worked on. Another perk of this site is that it showcases some student projects. This site's extra information director page below the main item is my favorite feature since it helps increase my understanding of the film business and highlights the figures behind the media that we enjoy on a daily basis. Another strength of this site is the option to see all of the films produced by a studio, which allowed me to study the similarities and differences across films made by the same studio. The biggest drawback of this website is the lack of articles that come up when you search. In the previous site, there are rows upon rows of new and old sequences alike, but on this watch the tiles site there are only two pages with ten sequences each. Overall both of these websites are great but for ease of navigation and quick use, the first website is miles ahead of the second.
