Planning Blog: Title

Image
At the beginning of the scene, we will show our title in Arial font because it's bold and stands out easily to entice the viewer. Our title as of now is PROTECT THE PRESIDENT. We might change it in the editing process, but it fits the theme of the film, and we made it in all caps to pop out more and make it seem like a serious situation. We're going to start the scene with the title on the screen for about 3 seconds then it will immediately fade away to a high action scene to create a sense of urgency, which is why the title is in caps. Since the suits we will be wearing will be black we will probably make the title a brighter color like red or blue. The credits to the actors and editors will also be presented in a brighter color because we want the name to the credits on the actors' suits and the editing credits will be somewhere on the entrances of buildings or cars. Something like Played By: Albert Johnson. The title will be shown one more time at the end for another

FADE IN: EXT. THE WHITE HOUSE - DAY The camera shows the iconic White House from different angles. Suddenly, a group of heavily armed men in black outfits rushes into the premises, breaking through the gate and overpowering the Secret Service agents. INT. THE OVAL OFFICE - DAY PRESIDENT JACKSON (50s) sits at his desk, scrolling through some documents. Suddenly, the door bursts open, and the masked men rush in, grabbing the President and pinning him to the ground. PRESIDENT JACKSON: (struggling) Who are you? What do you want? MASKED MAN: (in a cold, emotionless voice) We want you, Mr. President. Come with us if you want to live. The masked men drag the President out of the Oval Office, leaving the room in chaos. The camera follows them as they run through the halls, guns blazing, taking out any Secret Service agent who tries to stop them. EXT. THE WHITE HOUSE - DAY The kidnappers push the President into a black van waiting outside. One of them, the leader, removes his

Planning Blog: Location, Costume, Props, Schedule

Planning Blog   Props:  We have a lot of props in idea to use. We are planning to use toy guns as props. We also plan to use many items like plastic knifes, walkie talkies, and badges to make are actors look like special agents. We also may use some cardboard or plastic to make barricades and obstacles.   Costumes: For costume we plan on using all black clothing. We will use long sleeve and sweatpants too make it fit in with the idea of a special agent team. We also have ski masks to cover the faces to make things even more realistic. We plan to have the president in a suit with some form of indication that its the president.  Schedule: As of now we plan to film over the period of spring break 5/17-5/26. This time period allows all the actors we need to be free at the time. This will also give us lots of time so there is not big breaks in between filming days.  Location list: Our main location is to go to our friend Felipe's apartment. This will give us tons of space to work with.

The first website we found while researching was Art of the Title. we liked how this website was organized and the number of title sequences available for each genre. Each sequence was also further grouped by what is found in the sequences, for example, it would group together sequences that contain or convey tension or sequences that were shot in a single take. At the bottom of the page, the website features stories detailing major things happening in the title design industry. This website also features classic title designs in the search bar along with recommended title screens. The website also includes additional commentary on the title sequence that you previously watched at the top of the page. Although not all of the title sequences have a great amount of commentary a good amount has it. We feel that the website may be improved by including additional information in the grid view. Despite these problems, the website is excellent, and its long list of both explanations and wat

Genre Forrest Gump

Camera The extended start of the first scene begins with a long tracking shot, following a feather falling along the environment of the film. This establishes the area within which segments of the film take place and sets a dreamlike tone for the movie. This same uncut shot then transitions to a long shot of two people on a bench, featuring the main character and the woman he is talking too. This distance represents both the physical space between them and psychological differences or “space” between them. There are fundamentally different from each other, and this shot establishes that. Costumes The costumes that the two characters wear in the first five minutes are integral to starting the plot and moving the storytelling forward. The main point of focus are the characters' shoes, which start Gump into telling his life story. He mentions that you can learn a lot from peoples’ shoes, and compares his dirty uncomfortable shoes to her clean comfortable shoes. Additionally,

In this movie there are lots of medium close-up shots mainly when the characters are exchanging dialogue. There are some extreme close-up shots used to emphasize how valuable some of the items that are after are. During the fighting scenes there are lots of long shots, this allows the viewer to be able to see all the action while leaving a couple of subtle details out of the center of the screen. While the main characters are sneaking around there are many medium shots. These medium shots give the viewer a clearer view of the surroundings of the characters while also being able to leave out things that may confuse the viewer. As the bad guy is more powerful there is an eye level shot that then pans to a high angle showing that the bad guy has more power at that exact moment. All the characters' costumes closely resemble the source material, the entire movie is based on a video game and does a great job of portraying this. One of the main ways it does it is using costumes. When

  1.      In this section, we will discuss the different camera angles and camera movements. The scene starts with shots of 2 characters talking back and forth but then changes scenes into a wide shot of a character running but lots of action and fighting behind him. It transitions into a long shot of Deadpool running towards a taxi. The final scene gets a two shot of Deadpool and his taxi driver talking about what they just experienced. 2.      Now for the next section, we will discuss some common cosmetics of the film. Each character in the film has costumes that represent their hero personality, for example, Deadpool’s costume color represents the color of blood. The actors who were fighting Deadpool were dressed in hoods and masks to represent being the bad guys. There were also props of dangerous chemicals to show they were up to no good. 3.      The sound in each part of the film creates a more vivid place for action to arise throughout the scenes . Genre Decision Blog

As a group we have decided to choose the action genre. This will be the best fit for our pitch. It also is the main genre that makes sense for our topic. Sense the pitch is biased on the kidnaping of the president we need a genre that will be able to capture this feeling.   Action also tends to be fast paced and some new crazy thing happening each cut. All the genres that we researched could be slightly added into our movie introduction. For example, some of the tension building techniques could be used in the buildup of the kidnapping like using a high angle to show when the president may be vulnerable. Thrillers tend to spend most of the time just building up to the main action. The over the shoulder shots are used regularly in both genres but the extreme close ups from the action genre fit our vibe better. Some of the comedic relief factors include some dialogue between characters. Also making many other genres included will defiantly make it more entertaining. Having multiple small

What’s up my name is Ryan Wunsch attending Ft Lauderdale High and I’m currently a junior. I am 16 years old and my birthday is April 8 and I was born 2006. Right now I am very interested in learning how to play chess. I have been playing online a couple times a day and have greatly improved in the past couple of weeks. Something else I have been really working on is studying for the SAT. I just started doing online classes every week. My biggest current goal is to get into the University of Florida. I have also been thinking about FSU and other Florida schools if things don't go to plan. I have also been really into soccer lately. I play every week with friends as the recent world cup sparked a huge interest for us. In my free time lately I have been spending lots of time with my friends as we tend to hangout every weekend. I have also been driving a lot as I need to improve more.  Another big thing I love doing every week is attending my churches youth group. Every Sunday we go ha
